Welcome to ScaledRaces. Here it is our goal to collect and showcase art that depicts such creatures as the Yuan-ti, the Naga, the Lizardfolk, and any other creatures with glittery, scaly hides. We also seek to build a community around these creatures.

Group RULES:
:bulletgreen: Anything submitted to this group has to be a scaley type of creature (preferably from D&D, but can be from other stuff to).
:bulletgreen: When submitting something it has to be to the correct folder, if you don't know where yours should go just put it into the 'Other Races' folder.
:bulletgreen: Mature content is acceptable provided it adheres to the rules of deviantART.
:bulletgreen: You can send us as many submitions as you want, its encouraged so we can beef up the group with art.
:bulletgreen: All contest entries should go into the Contest Submission folder when submitting.

Celebrating the 40th birthday of one of the most iconic games of all times. 40 years ago today, creators Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson launched the groundbreaking game Dungeons and Dragons on January 26, 1974.
I felt it was appropriate to celebrate the anniversary of D&D here due to D&D inspiring the creation of many monsters that make up this group. From Yuan-tis, Kobolds, Nagas, and Lizard-folk, the game has left an impact in many other ways other than just these scaly critters.
If you want to learn more about the anniversary, you should check out these two links here:……

Hope you all have a great day.

Nice group :D

Have you noticed that snake people in fiction (i.e. anthro snakes with arms and/or legs) are evil 99.99% of the time

In fact the only time they've been good was the Aladdin episode where Jasmine and Aladdin (the latter for about 10 seconds) change into snake people. And even then the snake was still portrayed as evil as Jasmine thought she was becoming a monster

All the other good snakes in fiction are just regular snakes, like ones that hang from branches. And ALL the other snake people in fiction besides the Aladdin are villains

Sigh...I guess i have to make my own if i want to see anymore good ones eh?
